About Me

I'm Rahul Gupta, a machine learning engineer and computer vision researcher with a Master's in Computer Science from San Diego State University. My work focuses on pushing the boundaries of neural compression and computer vision technologies.
My technical expertise spans across several domains of AI research. I've developed significant experience with large language models, GPU infrastructure, and distributed training systems. Working with PyTorch and TensorFlow, I've implemented neural compression algorithms that achieve impressive results in texture and image compression.
What drives me is the opportunity to work on technologies that can significantly advance the state of the art. I'm particularly interested in projects with the potential to make 10x improvements over existing solutions. This mindset has led me to explore neural compression techniques that offer substantial gains in compression ratio while maintaining visual fidelity.
My approach to research combines theoretical understanding with practical implementation. I excel at setting up experiments, benchmarking performance, and iterating on designs to achieve optimal results. This methodical approach has been valuable in my work on neural texture compression, where balancing compression ratio with visual quality requires careful experimentation.
Beyond technical skills, I bring a collaborative mindset to my work. I believe that the most innovative solutions emerge when talented individuals work together toward a common goal. With the right team, I'm confident we can tackle challenging problems and develop solutions that make a real impact.
In my free time, I enjoy implementing cutting-edge research papers and exploring new techniques in machine learning. This hands-on approach keeps me at the forefront of AI advancements and allows me to bring fresh perspectives to my professional work.
